ROSALIND GROENEWOUD WINS THIRD PLACE AT US OPEN SUPER PIPE

Kombi Team member Rosalind Groenewoud finished third, with an impressive display of determination and courage. Roz, still sporting a black eye and an injured back from a brutal fall in Friday’s slopestyle competition, had been in too much pain to train the pipe throughout the scheduled training sessions, and had considered withdrawing from the event. Once she decided to compete, there was no holding back at all, and Roz charged the pipe with the most technically demanding runs of the event. The only skier in the women’s field to successfully land a 900, she also included spins both ways and a great 720 at the end of her run.

Women’s podium:

1st – Jess Cumming (USA)
2nd – Mirjam Jager (SUI)
3rd – Roz G (CAN)
