Official Press Release
(Vernon, BC – January 19, 2012)
Morrison breaks into top-10 world ranking
Noah Morrison started his latest road trip at the end of December
with a win at the 1516 Rail Jam at Silver Star Mountain, BC, his
home hill, on December 28, 2011. Two weeks later he found
himself joining the elite top-10 club in world slopestyle
competition.
From Silver Star Mountain he journeyed on to Calgary for the first
stop of the Canadian Open Series at Canada Olympic Park, where
he would dominate the slopestyle action. The course was in topnotch
shape for this event and the weather ideal.
Morrison qualified his double cork twelve the day before the
competition and added it to his run to take top spot in the slopestyle
on January 8, 2012. Directly after the award ceremony in Calgary, Morrison left for an event in Northstar,
California. On route he stopped at Tahoe to train for the second stop of the US Revolution Tour, slated for
January 11th at Northstar.
Feeling pumped after his win in Calgary and training session at Tahoe, Morrison arrived in Northstar
gunning for the top slot of the podium. Despite a lack of snow in the area the course was in great shape.
Morrison rose to the occasion qualifying first through the field of 80 skiers. He held top spot throughout the
final, which earned him a well-deserved slopestyle win.
This was Morrison’s second slopestyle podium at a US Revolution Tour
event this season. He finished third at the first stop at Copper Mountain,
Colorado and is currently in second for overall series points. With
Morrison’s latest podium finishes, he has moved up the overall world
slopestyle ranking into a noteworthy eighth place. Less than a year ago the
young-up-and comer was ranked 212th.
“I’ve really found my groove over the past sixth months or so,” said
Morrison. “But what it comes down to is focus, hard work, and being in
top physical shape.”
In the coming month, he will be competing at the Canadian Shield Series at Mt. Tremblant and then back to
Northstar for the North Face Freeski Open Slopestyle.

Justin Dorey Finishes 4th at Killington Dew Tour Stop

Dorey put down a respectable first run, scoring 83.00. He faltered on his second run in the best-of-two runs format and ended the night in fourth spot.

Dorey said, “I’ve been struggling with the pipe all week – it’s been icy and it’s been hard to hold an edge and my first trick, my double 12, was giving me trouble. So, during training I was really worried, but I managed to put one down in finals; it was sketchy, but I landed it and I’m pretty happy because I have been having a tough time the last few days. I wouldn’t say this result is a huge confidence booster for X [X Games next week] but it definitely makes me more determined to do well there.”

“It’s been a very tough week,”added Dorey
